«The upswing continues»

Growth rates are declining in the US, but they may continue to rise in Europe and Japan. There is little standing in the way of a continued recovery, which speaks for equities, says VP Bank's Chief Investment Officer Felix Brill.

Even if the US economy has passed peak growth rates, "the upswing continues", says  Brill. One reason for this are fiscal policy measures such as the recently approved infrastructure bill.

The situation is different in other regions, as Brill explains in the interview format "Our View - The Questions". "In Europe and Japan, we have not reached pre-crisis levels of GDP yet. There is a good chance that we see growth rates accelerating in the second half of the year."

"This is a good environment for equities but not so much for bond markets", says Brill.
