VP Bank event with Karl Egloff in Zurich: What financial markets and mountain peaks have in common

Reading time: 1 min
On Thursday, 6 November 2025, VP Bank held an exclusive client event entitled ‘Skillfully taking risks’ at Kraftwerk Zurich.

Felix Brill, our Chief Investment Officer, and extreme mountaineer Karl Egloff shed light on the topic of risk from two different perspectives: Felix Brill showed how a well-thought-out strategy helps to take targeted risks on the financial markets. Karl Egloff spoke about his aborted world record attempt on Mount Everest, impressively demonstrating how crucial it is to assess risks correctly and make courageous decisions – even if this means letting go of a goal for the time being.

VP Bank supports Karl Egloff – the ‘white condor’ of mountaineering – on his quest to conquer the Seven Summits in world record time. His courage to push boundaries reflects the ambition that drives us in our daily work.

The evening was hosted by Rainer Maria Salzgeber, who guided the programme with his experience and flair for exciting stories.
