United for musical excellence: VP Bank Opus Award 2025
The young musicians Robert Neumann (piano), Charlotte Spruit (violin), Willard Carter (cello) and Vladimir Aćimović (piano) impressed with their virtuoso performances and artistic expressiveness. After intensive musical contributions, the jury, consisting of Christiane Weber, Head of the Artistic Office at Lucerne Festival, Marc Barwisch, Head of Artistic Operations at the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich, and Andrea Meuli, Editor-in-Chief and Publisher of Musik & Theater magazine, selected this year's winner. Willard Carter from the United Kingdom won the musical competition.
Focus on holistic support
The VP Bank Opus Award not only recognises outstanding musical achievements, but also the personality and development potential of young artists. Adrian Schneider, Head of the Liechtenstein Region at VP Bank, emphasises: "With the VP Bank Opus Award, we are sending a strong signal for cultural promotion in Liechtenstein. Together with the Music Academy in Liechtenstein, we are promoting not only musical excellence, but also the holistic development of young talent."
Looking to the future
The VP Bank Opus Award will be presented again next year – in keeping with VP Bank's long-term commitment to promoting young talent. The name of this year's winner will be engraved on the award so that it can be passed on to the next winner as a challenge cup. In addition to the prestigious award, Willard Carter received prize money of EUR 5,000 and a gold pin provided by Huber Uhren und Schmuck. German pianist Robert Neumann received the audience award of EUR 1,000.
