On 26 February 2026, VP Bank hosted its 1st Half 2026 Market Outlook event, gathering clients for an afternoon of in-depth market insights and culture celebration. Anchored on the theme "Resilience", the event explored how investors can navigate the year ahead with confidence amid an evolving global environment.

Insights from VP Bank's Leadership

Against a backdrop of continued market volatility and structural change, the session explored how resilience can be built across portfolios over time, featuring perspectives from Felix Brill, Head of International Locations and Group CIO, and Thomas Rupf, Co-Head Singapore and CIO Asia, who provided a comprehensive view of the macroeconomic landscape globally and in Asia respectively.

Resilience beyond markets

Adding a broader dimension to the programme was a fireside chat with Karl Egloff, world-renowned mountaineer and endurance athlete known for his record-breaking speed ascents. In this conversation hosted by Felix, Karl shared his personal experiences and his quest to conquer the Seven Summits in world record time, focusing on preparation, composure and judgement under pressure, resonating strongly with the event's focus on resilience, that extends beyond portfolios.

Strengthening connections

Held during the festive Chinese New Year period, the event also provided an opportunity to celebrate the festive season with clients, where we began the event with a traditional lo-hei or prosperity toss to usher in prosperity, good health and forward momentum in the Year of the Fire Horse.
